Musiqi-e Sonati-e Irani or Musiqi-e Assil-e Irani is the term given to Persian music. This term denotes native music of all the countries where Persian is the pre-dominant language. Art of music is known as Musiqui whereas Moosiqui is the name given to sound and performance of music.
Khorasan is the most popular form of folk music in Persia. It is particularly liked in northeastern part of Persia. Instruments that are mainly used in this music are stringed dotoar, daiyreh drum, wind instrument and double-reeded ghooshmeh. Combined with these instruments, beautiful lyrics of Persian folk songs are sure to leave an eternal mark in your hearts. Music players like Kayhan Kalhor and Mohmmad Reza Shajarian are the jewels.
Classical music holds a special place in Persian culture. Often performed by a small ensemble that includes, singer, few melodic instruments and a rhythmic apparatus, classical music are simply class. santur, tar, kamanche, nay or setar are major rhythmic instruments. Reng, pishdaramad and cheharmezrab are instrumental forms of Persian music. Persian music demands perseverance because it’s very unique and precious.
