Learning dance is one experience; one is going to cherish life long. It’s a great idea for any parents to introduce their kids to dance from an early age. This is a great de-stressor and helps in building one’s social skills. Children get the opportunity of learning a new art, making new friends and improving their personality.

Dance learning begins with listening to the music. The combination of dance and music is magical. Though few dances don’t require music but most of the popular ones require music to be performed alongside. Some songs force you to move your body and in those very moments never ever stop yourself from moving.

Listen to the catchy beats and move along. When strong beats is playing in the background try clapping your hands in tune with the beats. That way, you will get the feel of the music. The learning process also involves tapping your one foot to strong beats and another to weaker beats. This step will help in creating the feel.

Once you start feeling the beat go to next step of relaxing your arms and move them only when music is playing. Allow your body to move naturally. Don’t try to force your steps because that will rob off the element of synergy. Swing your arms in accordance with your feet movement and also raise arms up above the head and then down sideways.

The movement of arms will give you the required feel of ease. Also you are slowly getting into the rhythm. Now have your feet moved in such way that it resembles marching. Also begin taking few small steps forward and backward. You must have noticed that now your hand and feet are moving together. The next step belongs to movement of neck and head. Use your head nicely while dancing.

Don’t allow your head to be stiff. Move your head as per the beats playing in the background. Don’t overdo the nodding rather slight movement sideways and up and down and yes, now you are totally in sync with the beats. Now, your entire your body is moving. Yes, you have started to dance.
