Hebrew that is also known as modern day Israel has been blessed with a culture that thoroughly relishes music and dance. One of the prominent countries in the world in terms of history and geo-political significance, Hebrew has always nurtured culture of music. Many historians claim that throughout the history of the Hebrew people, its music has always managed to find a prominent place in the grand scheme of things.

In fact, Hebrew music outshines other cultures given the importance it placed on music. That fact alone is sufficient to make us believe how great, music has played a part in evolution of Hebrew culture. We also need to know that Hebrew culture has remained more smitten by magic of music than any other civilization.

Hebrew music is wonderful assortment of traditional as well as modern music. It has a distinctive flavor that has managed to find a place in world music. One can see the evidence of European rhythms, Russian ballads and Slavic combined with meaningful Hebrew lyrics. Hebrew music makes great use of acoustic arrangement. Instruments like accordion, piano and guitar are integral part of music. The earlier songs of the culture were based on minor keys and duple meter.

Israeli songs are based on varied themes ranging from love, death, pain, separation, youth, peace and war. Given country’s war-ridden history, it’s natural to produce music that places special emphasis on sanctity of peace and national commitments.

Country has given great musical talents. Some of them are, Naomi Shemer, Ofra Haza, Arik Einstein and Chava Alberstein. There is a huge fan following of genres like rock, jazz and pop. Singers and bands like Baldi Olier, The Idan Raichel Project, Wally Brill, Yair Dalal, Essev Bar, Shlomo Bar & Habrera Hativeet, Suzy, Al-Yaman, Kol Oud Tof Trio and Ido Ziv etc are hugely admired in the country.
