The first thing to be looked into while searching a dance teacher is his or her experience. One should try to find out since how long the teacher is imparting dance lessons. It is also useful to get an idea about teacher’s qualifications, certifications etc. retired professional dancers prove to be a better option despite the fact that most often than not, they don’t possess any certifications. But the sheer fact that, they have retired as a professional dancer is prove enough of their experience. However, student must decide about what type of dance he or she is willing to learn. Whether it’s classical or jazz or tango or salsa, or bollywood dance etc will make the task of finding good teacher much easier.
The other factor that requires to be taken care of is qualification of teacher. By that, we mean does the teacher teach several styles of dancing like ballet, jazz or tap etc. if a teacher is into teaching different styles of dancing then one should make sure that teacher is qualified to teach all the genres.
A dedicated and professional teacher is a much better choice as a dance teacher. If the teacher is passionate about his profession, chances of his teaching being more effective are quite bright. A dedicated teacher will love to impart the knowledge he has acquired over the years.
