Bharatanatyam, said to have originated in the state of Tamil Nadu, is one of the oldest forms of dance in India. This dance form has a glorious history and it was evolved during ancient times. In early days, this dance was performed in temples of Lord Shiva. Many dance classes offer to teach this style of dance but learning this dance is a tough task because this dance has its own conventions that requires amazing dance skills and rigorous practice which is acquired over the period of six to seven years.
Thus, students who wish to join Bharatanatyam dance classes need to be extremely passionate and dedicated to this style of dance. It is said that, dance has three basic elements of Mood (bhava), timing (tala) and music (raga). Bharatanatyam dance classes teach this dance such that it incorporates all the basic elements. This is a highly skilled dance with technical details. There are many people who are keen to learn western dance but not many youngsters show enthusiasm for traditional classical dance like Bharatanatyam. However, learning classical dance makes learning western dance easy for a dance amateur.
